Stage
A lasting board piece — extra DON!!, extra power, or a rule that stays in play.
- What it does
- A location. You play one and it sits in the Stage area until something replaces it.
- When you play it
- On your turn, during Main, for its DON!! cost. You may only have one Stage.
- Beginner trap
- Playing a second Stage and wondering where the first went — the new one replaces it. Also: treating a Stage like a Character that can attack.
Stages are the rarest type in most starters. They do not attack. They change the table: extra DON!! each turn, a power boost for a crew, a tax on the opponent.
Only one Stage per player. If you play another, the old one leaves. Build around one Stage you actually want, or skip them until a list asks.
A Stage is still a card type in the 50. It counts toward deck size like everything else. It is not a Leader and it is not extra life.
