Why this card

A top grade is worth €1273, about 1.1 times the €1146 it costs to buy and send this card in. Of the 50 copies already graded, 82.0% came back that high. On average, one raw copy loses €157 after grading.

Population

One grade up

Each row buys the lower slab at the guide price and sells it on the next priced PSA rung. The leftover is what remains if the copy actually comes back there, after the PSA fee and about 10% to sell the new slab. Dirt on the surface can sometimes earn that one rung. Centering, corners, edges, and a crease cannot. The prices do not say which of those held this copy down.

1. PSA 7 → 8€7 → €31−€21
2. PSA 8 → 9€31 → €656+€518
3. PSA 9 → 9.5€656 → €764−€43
4. PSA 9.5 → 10€764 → €1273+€306

A positive leftover is only worth opening the slab when the card in hand is limited by surface.
